Preserve this unique piece of Northern Liberties from real estate development.
We need your help to raise $200,000 in local and individual donations to purchase the land for permanent preservation as part of the Neighborhood Garden Trust. Those donations will be matched from state and national grants and a significant contribution from the land's current owner. With your generosity, we’ll maintain the beauty of the park and create a peaceful place for the community to unwind and experience nature.
Our main objective is first and foremost to raise funds to acquire the land of Orkney Park and secure a piece of tranquility in our bustling neighborhood. Although we’re always striving towards securing our capital campaign, there are short-term goals that your generosity can impact as well. With your support, we hope to maintain this historic oasis by removing invasive plants and adding native plants that will attract more birdlife. Additionally, donations will make it possible to pay the yearly property taxes and lawyer fees in order to acquire the land.
